Warts

The diagnosis of warts is usually uncomplicated, as they are recognizable as small, sharply demarcated growths on the top layer of skin. Viral warts are highly contagious and can spread through the smallest injuries in the skin. Even warts that are not cosmetically bothersome are worth getting checked out and removed, as they are potentially contagious and can spread. The various forms of warts include flat warts, prickly warts, mosaic warts, plantar warts, age warts, brush warts and cow warts.
Depending on the type of wart, different treatment methods are available in our practice:
  • Cryotherapy (icing),
  • Laser treatment and
  • surgical removal with electrocautery under local anesthesia.
All methods are suitable for effectively removing troublesome warts. In the case of deep warts, it is important to reduce both the wound pain to a minimum and the risk of recurring warts (recurrent warts) through appropriate treatment.
After a thorough examination in our office, we can make an accurate diagnosis and recommend and discuss with you the appropriate treatment.
